I'm trying to post everyday during the weekday to share some of my work projects and things that I have been working on, along with a little insight into my everyday life.
Since this is my first post in English, I wanted to share a Japanese word that I truly value. It's also one of our core values we hold dear at our company, so we have this word on a hanging scroll at our office entrance to always remember.
Defintion: Sincerity, true heart, wholeheartedly, devotion
(There is no direct translation in English but this is probably as close as it gets)
One of the beauties of the Japanese language is that it is a language that is filled with colorful vocabulary with each kanji(letter) symbolizing multiple meanings, adding depth and layer to each word.
In Japanese we often use
真心 (magokoro) with 込めて（pronounciation: ko-meh-te）
In English it would be similar to....
-We will put our heart and soul into providing you the best service possible.
-We will dedicate ourselves to making sure you leave with a smile after eating at our restaurant.
is the kind of attitude and mindset that I strive to embody in my everyday life.
In my work life as a small business owner, we have the capability of adding personal touches to each of our orders. Personally, I think this is a competitive advantage over big sized companies because they don't have any time to waste and sometimes prioritize sales rather than personal relationships.
We try as much as possible to include a letter for each customer in their package thanking them for their order.
We do this because we genuinely feel very thankful of our customers.
After all, they had thousands of other companies to choose from but they chose us, and for that we will always be grateful.
What are the chances of them finding our website out of 9384902384982390 sites on the universe and actually taking the step to order from us when most likely they don't even know who we are.
If I were a customer, I would hesitate too.
I have been trying to find ways/sentences to end this blog post for the last 10 minutes but honestly speaking I don't really know how to wrap it up so I would like to end with my current thoughts↓
As a 2nd year CEO in training, I hope to continue trying to exceed our customer’s expectations, to always grow, and do everything with love and 真心。
